Have you noticed a change in your water pressure when trying to take your daily shower? There is undoubtedly a problem causing these vexatious water issues and determining the cause is the first step to fixing it. Here are some helpful possible causes of your low water pressure to help you troubleshoot the problem and get your water flowing back to normal.

1. Clogs

Clogs are one of the most common causes of reduced water pressure. Mineral deposits and other particles can accumulate in your shower head over time causing a clog. A clog leads to lowered water pressure. You could have a clog in either your shower head fixture or water piping. Sometimes a clogged fixture can be resolved by simply being washed in a vinegar and water solution.

2. Water Leaks

When any type of break is present in your pipeline it will cause a water leak. Regardless of how small or large, a water leak will generally lower your water pressure. If less water is coming out of your faucet it could certainly be going somewhere else. A good way to check if you’re experiencing a water leak is to check your water meter then check it again later on without using any water in between. You’ll know you have a water leak if your water meter number doesn’t remain the same. Water leaks can run into a lot of expenses and need fixed quickly. If you experience a water leak, turn your water off at the meter immediately.

3. Corrosion

Corrosion is also a common cause of low water pressure, especially in older homes. If you have an older home, corroded pipes could certainly the culprit of your water pressure problems. Corrosion in piping can easily restrict water flow.

4. Home Valves

Sometimes the cause of low water pressure is because a main water valve has been accidentally turned off. One of these main water valves is located in front of your home and the other can be found at your meter box. If you have a water pressure problem, it’s good to check and make sure these valves are turned on completely.

5. Max Water Usage

In some cases, your low water pressure may be the result of numerous people in your community using high amounts of water at the same time. High water usage problems usually occur when your routines that require a lot of water run into the same routines of others. A good way to solve this problem is by slightly changing your schedule.

6. Pressure Regulators

Your installed water pressure regulator, normally found in the front side of your home under the hose connection is pre-set to regulate your water pressure. Sometimes these regulators go bad and need replaced.

An easy solution can be upgrading your existing shower fixture to a new shower head. Luckily, here at Aroma Sense USA, we provide vitamin c shower heads with optimized water pressure so you won’t have to worry about weak shower pressure or leakage ever again!
